Crunchy toffee chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients (makes approximately 24 cookies)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Soften the butter. Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract together. Beat in the egg. Stir in flour and chocolate chips. Roll 2 tablespoons or more of cookie dough into round balls and place on a cookie sheet a few inches apart. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Turn off the oven. Allow cookies to cool for about 5 minutes on the cookie sheet. Return to oven and let them sit in there till oven cools off or after 15 minutes or so.
